On Thursday 6th May 2010 a group of four Year 10s went to Bury College for an afternoon of Mathematical challenges.

This year saw the pupils being directors, buyers, financial controllers, marketing and PR officers and translators for a company planning a conference for 150 delegates 50% of which only speak French. The day started with team building exercises consisting of anagrams, knot tying and a quiz ‘What language, what country?’ The teams found some of the encouraging words hard to decipher as they included: successful, enthusiasm, determined, completion, accomplish, succeeding and incentive. They did, however, manage to be the quickest school to finish all 7 words that had taken part in the challenge. The conference challenge bid took the remainder of the day.
