Greater Manchester Fire Service

The Fire Service is amazing, they don’t just help people but they also help animals.  Year 6 was very lucky to have the Fire Service come in and talk about the dangers of fire.

The Fire service talked about house fires, reservoirs, car crashes and how to react if you are ever on fire; they used the “Stop, Drop & Roll” technique.  Year 6 were very impressed and loved trying on the uniform and gear.

A big thanks to Greater Manchester Fire Service.

I enjoyed the firemen coming to visit us today.

When the Fire Brigade came to see Year 6 they told us about what they do, they put out fires. They save animals and the Fire Brigade also get people out of locked rooms.

When someone is in a car crash and if they can’t open the car door the Manchester Fire Brigade will cut it open.

They have to wear a uniform that is really big and you have to wear clothes, big boots, pants and two coats.

On Wednesday the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service came to our class.  They talked about fire safety, accidents and fires.  They showed us pictures to learn about fire and safety.
