The U16 netball team

It was their first netball match back this year, and what a game it was!

Team: Ellie Jenkinson (captain), Jess Bennett, Hiba Javed, Maddy Jakcson, Mia Greenwood, Maya Servio, Millie Cooper, Hira Iqbal and Elana El-Hage. The girls were extremely nervous about their first match back since the summer which showed in their performace for the first third. Losing 4-2 due to some silly mistakes, it was time for a team talk and a few changes. The second third started brilliantly with excellent goal keeping skills from Mia Greenwood, and some lovely triangular passing formations from Ellie Jenkinson, Jess Bennett and Millie Cooper. Our goal shooter Millie, showed excellent composure on the ball when shooting, but unfortunately, our concentration levels dropped, and we let Hulme Hall take the second third by 9-6.  We then made the decision for Jess Bennett to play centre and Ellie Jenkinson to play goal attack. We looked excellent on the ball, we finally started working together as a team, demonstrating great communication skills, and brilliant passing tactics from Hiba Javed and Ellie Jenkinson. We won the final third 7 goal to 2. Resulting in a 15-15 draw at the final whistle. Well done to Maddy Wilkinson, Millie Cooper and Elana El-Hage on their recorded performance for the GCSE moderation, and huge congratulations to Ellie Jenkinson for man of the match.

Beech House would also like to thank the staff at Hulme Hall Grammar School for their umpiring of the game and allowing us to play at their school. Your girls performed admirably, and we are looking forward to playing them again
