The purpose of the taster day is to give students the opportunity to visit the college and try out four subjects of their choice. The day aims to support the Year 11 application process and give students an in-depth view of ‘life at RSFC’. The psychology lesson sounded very exciting as students experienced an escape room based on the Stanford Prison Experiment. In film studies, students were shown lots of educational clips that they then had to analyse by explaining what was going on and the effect on the audience. History students talked and the Wars of the Roses; the history teacher wore lots of different materials that knights wore and even swung a real sword around! In art and design, students made brushes out of different materials, whilst mathematicians were given different challenges to crack a code. Law students discussed different murder scenarios; they had to decide who was right, who was wrong, and a suitable punishment. In business, students debated Brexit. To add to the excitement, lunch was free and tasted amazing according to the students, especially the chicken nuggets!
