Year 8 very much enjoyed their trip to Rochdale Sixth Form College. The event was planned to help the students consider their GCSE options and what subjects are most suited to their strengths and future aspirations.

One of the most popular activities at the event was carried out by the Sixth Form's Mathematics department. Here, students were given a code breaker activity where they had to unscramble words by using a code wheel to decipher sentences. Students also enjoyed dressing up in hats and wigs as part of the Drama workshop, guessing how many historical kings died and naming objects used to kill them in History, and creating jelly tot structures to stack weights on in Physics.

Many of the students commented that they were unsure about their GCSE options prior to the event, but they now have more of an idea about what they would most like to do. For some, it even inspired them to think about their future careers!
