Literary Success

Congratulations to Mrs Islam who is Assistant Headteacher at Beech House School on her soon to be published book ‘Amazing Muslims Who Changed the World’. A richly illustrated and stunning collection of the true stories behind both modern and historical Muslim heroes, this book is one of the first of its kind in celebrating the achievements of Muslims around the world. Set to be published in hardback on July 9th 2020 by Puffin, it is a collection of 30 stories around the lives of famous and little known Muslims. Some of the figures are well-known in this collection, such as Malala Yousafzai, Sir Mo Farah, and Muhammad Ali, however there are also lesser-known figures who are equally important, such as Sultan Razia, an extraordinary female ruler, and Noor Inayat Khan, an Indian princess who became a British spy during World War Two. From female pirates to incredible scientists to brilliant mathematicians, “Amazing Muslims Who Changed the World” is nothing short of remarkable. Some of the Upper Prep pupils played a part in the cover design. While the book is aimed for children aged 9 to 12, this book can be enjoyed by all and is a must read.
